Building Inspections
The NYC Construction Codes require property owners to build and maintain their properties in safe condition. Failure to do so could result in violations, monetary penalties and/or criminal charges.
JPD is versant with NYC’s 1938, 1968 and its most current Building Code as well as NYC’s Zoning Resolution. Familiarity with regulatory codes and NYC Building Department Bulletins is a crucial part of inspecting buildings. Whether it's gas, fire proofing, fire stopping, concrete mix, energy, or Local Law 11 façade inspections; periodic inspections are meant to ensure public safety.

Beyond the above inspections, are simple code issues that often go overlooked by building owners such as: Direction of door swings, width of stair landings, what is and is not a habitable space, consistent riser height in a single run of stairs, emergency lighting and minimum lighting levels, emergency egress in public assembly spaces and the list can go on.
